Upper Canyon Road & Parking Lot Improvements (PM&E 24-16)

This project extends from Upper Canyon Road at Echo Canyon Road to the Flattop Sunnyside Trailhead and aims to improve safety, access, and roadway longevity. Work includes road widening, new subgrade and pavement, drainage upgrades, slope stabilization, and coordination for utilities and permits.

• Install drainage features to manage runoff and reduce icy conditions
• Widen and resurface the road for safer travel and upgrade the subgrade for improved longevity
• Stabilize slopes and adjust grades to reduce erosion
• Potential parking improvements 

This project is being funded through voter approved bonds for improvements to Canyon Road, as part of the Chugach State Park Access Service Area. 

The project team is coordinating with Chugach State Park on the adjacent parking lot and trailhead upgrades. More information will be shared here as it becomes available.
